How to Make a Taco Bowl

- Add the ground beef to a preheated skillet or frying pan on medium-high heat. Cook until fully browned and stir in the taco seasoning. Take off the heat when fully cooked.

- Chop up the cleaned head of lettuce. Thinly slice the red onion and cube the tomato. Have the avocado ready to go, but only prepare it when ready to serve, to prevent browning.

- Split the chopped green leaf in the bottom of two serving bowls or plates. Divide the cooked ground beef evenly between the two plates.

- Spoon the cottage cheese on top of the ground beef and chopped lettuce. Garnish the taco bowl with fresh cilantro, prepared tomato, red onion, grated cheese, and slices of avocado.
5. Serve with a fresh squeeze of lime juice to help create a type of dressing for the Cottage Cheese Taco Bowl when stirring it in with the cottage cheese.

Substitutions
- Ground Beef - Replace the beef with ground poultry, lentils, fried cubes of tofu, or a vegetarian meat substitute.
- Greens - Swap out the green leaf for spinach, arugula, romaine or any blend.
- Vegetarian - Customize your taco bowl by adding or removing veggies as you wish, with what you prefer, or have available. Add canned ingredients for ease, like corn kernels and/or black beans.
- Jalapeños - Add pickled jalapeño slices to the salad for a nice heat.
Store the Leftovers
Refrigerate the cottage cheese, seasoned meat, and chopped vegetables individually to maintain freshness and texture. Assemble the bowls just before eating to keep everything crisp and flavorful. Enjoy within 2 to 3 days for the best taste and quality. Avoid freezing, as the cottage cheese and fresh veggies may lose their texture once thawed.
