Substitutions

  • Plain Waffles - Replace the ¼ cocoa powder with flour for a plain waffle.
  • Eggs: Replace with flax eggs (1 tablespoon ground flaxseed + 2.5 tablespoons water per egg) for a vegan option.
  • Milk: Use almond milk, oat milk, or any plant-based milk for a dairy-free version.
  • Butter: Switch to coconut oil, vegetable oil, or vegan butter for a similar result.

Storage

Cool the freshly cooked Chocolate Cottage Cheese Waffles completely on a wire rack to prevent sogginess. Stack the waffles with parchment paper between each layer to avoid sticking. Place the stack in an airtight container or resealable freezer bag for proper storage. Refrigerate the waffles for up to 3 days, or freeze them for up to 3 months for longer storage. Reheat the waffles in a toaster, toaster oven, or preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) until warm and crispy. Enjoy them as if they were freshly made!
