Buffalo Hot Dogs

  • Beef Hot Dog Wieners (or use your favorite type of wiener)
  • Brioche Hot Dog Buns
  • Prepared Coleslaw
  • Blue Cheese Salad Dressing
  • Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • Green Onion
  • Celery
  • Prepared Buffalo Sauce
  • Red Onion (Optional topping)
  • Crispy Fried Onions (Optional topping)

How to make Buffalo Hot Dogs

  1. Start by cooking your favorite hot dogs on the grill, or by following the instructions on the package.

  1. Mix to combine the coleslaw mix, green onion, parmesan cheese and blue cheese dressing in a bowl.

  1. Line the inside of the hot dog buns with the prepared coleslaw. Place a cooked wiener in the hot dogs and then top them with sliced celery pieces.

  1. Drizzle the hot dogs with buffalo sauce. Garnish with crispy onion and/or crumbled blue cheese.

Substitutions

  • Wiener - Use you favorite type of wiener, whether it is meat, or veggie.
  • Bun - Change out the brioche bun with any regular hot dog bun or even a gluten free bun if need be.
  • Ranch Dressing - If blue cheese is not your thing, I recommend using Ranch dressing.

Storage

Store the wieners, coleslaw and buns separately so that the buns do not get soggy and you can warm up the wieners. Place in airtight containers and refrigerate for 2-3 days. I do not recommend freezing the prepared coleslaw.

  • 4 pieces Hot Dog Wiener
  • 4 pieces Hot Dog Buns
  • 2 cups Coleslaw Mix
  • 2 tablespoon Blue Cheese Salad Dressing
  • 1 large Green Onion
  • ¼ cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 rib Celery finely sliced
  • 2 tablespoon Red Onion thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoon Buffalo Sauce

Instructions
 

  • Cook your favorite hot dogs on the grill, or by following the instructions on the package.
  • In a bowl, combine the coleslaw mix, green onion, parmesan cheese and blue cheese dressing, Mix until well coated in the dressing.
  • Line the inside of the hot dog buns with the prepared coleslaw and place a cooked wiener on top.
  • Garnish the hot dog with the sliced celery and onion, then drizzle with buffalo sauce. Optionally you could garnish with crispy onion and/or crumbled blue cheese.
