Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cup All Purpose White Flour
  • tablespoon Baking Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Salt

Wet Ingredients

  • ¾ cup 2% Cottage Cheese
  • ¼ cup Milk
  • 1 large Egg
  • ¼ cup Butter melted

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 425F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Combine in a large bowl, the white flour, baking powder, salt, and optional herbs. Whisk until well combined.
  • Whisk in a smaller bowl, the egg, milk, cottage cheese, and the melted butter.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.
  • Stir until the dough comes together but still shaggy. Transfer to a clean surface or counter. Knead the dough with your hand until smooth and all dry ingredients have been absorbed.
  • Dust a very little amount of flour onto the counter if the dough becomes a little sticky. Roll the dough out into a 9 inch circle, it should be about ¾ inches in thickness. Use a drinking glass or cookie cutter of between 2 ¾ and 3 inches in diameter. Cut out 4 biscuits. Press the dough trimmings together, making sure that it is the same thickness as the first time you rolled it out. Cut out 2 more biscuits.
  • Transfer the biscuits to the prepared baking tray. Place into the preheated 425F oven and bake for 13 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let them cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
